Nancy
Ford came back to the Mohawk Valley to settle down and enjoy Editorial: Nancy has won many awards for her editorial work from the Associated Press, National Press Photographers Association, New York State Publishers, Gannett and others. In addition to working at the Observer-Dispatch in Utica for 15 years as a Staff photographer and Photo Editor, her work has been published in other editorial publications such as People Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Pittsburgh Press, Washington Post, Adirondack Explorer, New York Newsday and many commercial / trade publications. She also is a columnist for Just Ride Magazine.

Education: Nancy is a graduate of Utica Free Academy (1978), Mohawk Valley Community College and S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Teaching & Mentoring: Being dedicated to education and mentoring, Nancy also teaches photography part-time at Herkimer County Community College. Her philosophies on photography, ethics and photo editing have been published in college and high school level text books such as "Contemporary Editing" and "In The News" (Centre For Education Technology.) She has authored web sites aimed at educating young photographers such as "Photojournalism as A Career" and "Photojournalism From the Soul." In 1999, Nancy was the keynote speaker at the Western Canadian Press Photographers Association in Edmonton. She is available to speak to classes in the area school systems.
Professional Affiliations: Proud member of the National Press Photographers Association, Herkimer County Community College Board of Advisors and Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce. In an effort to help promote Utica and surrounding areas, Nancy's plans for the future includes selling calendars, postcards and posters on her stock photography web site, MohawkValleyPhotos.com.
