"Sometimes our photos can bring a community together.  When we take those images that make our readers feel the grief or sorrow of others, those 1 /500th of a second  moments in someone’s life, and the community comes together to help, we have helped.  When a group of people come together for the good of others, we can step back and feel the benevolence.  Maybe not enough of us go into those situations thinking that if we get a powerful image we can change the course of someone’s fate.  Power images can lead to powerful actions by others.  Maybe we should think more like that."
